Jason Foss is to join the cast of an upcoming Lord of the Rings TV show in a pivotal role.
Almost Anything co-owner and main geek is to play the role of the wizard, Gandalf the Grey, in the serialised TV show adaptation, a STAN exclusive, which will begin filming in July in New Zealand.
Jason, whose media career to date includes a number of YouTube videos, several interviews for ABC Radio and as an “on the spot reporter” for the BBC in the UK during times of bad weather here in Rockhampton.
When asked about the role Jason said:
When they offered me the role – I could not pass. I guess I had something the others going for the role just didn’t!?
That “something” is clearly Jason’s full bushy beard – a fixture of his face since 2016. (The fact the he also already owns the staff, hat and cloak was also probably a bonus.)
Secrecy around Jason’s costume is obviously high – but we were able to obtain this artists impression of how it could look:
Jason’s wife, (and Almost Anything co-owner), Yolinda Foss also auditioned for the role of yet unnamed Hobbit character, but was unsuccessful as she was deemed too tall for the part.
For the rest of the Almost Anything team it’s business as usual: performing website wizardry, tackling trolls on social media and being the one marketing agency to rule them all.
